Shea Walker

Certified Yoga Instructor
Shea Walker, yoga instructor at Golden Root Yoga

Shea is an ECYT, an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, and an Empowered Wisdom Yoga Nidra Facilitator. She has been studying yoga since 1998 and teaching publicly since 2016.

Her offerings are informed by the teachings of the Himalayan Masters, Sri Vidya Tantra, and Ayurveda. Shea’s classes weave together yoga asana, philosophy, pranayama (breath-control), ayurvedic concepts and self-inquiry. Her passion and purpose is sharing these tools with others so they can explore mind, body, and spirit, on and off the mat, creating deep transformation.

Since 2016, Shea has been teaching public and private yoga classes, leading workshops in yoga, Ayurveda, and yoga nidra, as well as mentoring private clients and sitting on various YTT faculty.

Each of Shea’s classes will open with a bhav (theme) that inspires the movement, pranayama, meditation, and mantra. Classes are taught through the lens of Ayurveda to create harmony between the inner and the outer; for example, during winter months, expect asana and subtle body practices that are heat building and more vigorous to encourage alertness and enthusiasm, and shake off the cold, heavy qualities often associated with the winter season. Shea will guide you through each asana offering variations for each shape. She will also share pranayama, meditation, and mantra in ways that are accessible to all levels of experience. Classes conclude with savasana or a longer guided awareness practice and self-inquiry that inspires students to take their practice off the mat and out into their daily lives and the world around them.
