ABOUT US

Community-Driven Yoga in Pooler, GA

Our Mission

At Golden Root Yoga, we guide people through breath-centered movement to help release tension, build strength, and reconnect with themselves, on and off the mat.

We’re a welcoming, down-to-earth space where healing happens at your pace, through mindful practice, real community, and the power of showing up exactly as you are.

Our Vision

Golden Root Yoga envisions a community where yoga becomes more than a class. It’s a daily anchor for resilience, connection, and mindful living.

We aim to be a trusted home for growth in Pooler and beyond, where people of all ages, backgrounds, and bodies feel supported, seen, and inspired to live with intention both on and off the yoga mat, and in everyday life.

Our Values

Come As You Are

We honor every person’s journey. No expectations, no prerequisites. Whether it’s your first class or your 500th, you belong here just as you are.

Breath and Movement as Medicine

We believe mindful movement and breath work are powerful tools for emotional clarity, nervous system regulation, and long-term strength from the inside out.

Practice Over Perfection

Yoga is never about getting it “right.” We celebrate curiosity, progress, and showing up, even on the messy days. Growth is the goal.

Strength Through Connection

We grow stronger when we’re supported. Our studio is a space to connect with your body, your breath, your community, and the present moment.

Healing Happens in Many Ways

We recognize that healing can look like stillness, sweat, laughter, or simply being witnessed. There’s no one path, and no pressure to find it quickly.

Our Team.

Our teachers are more than just instructors. They’re part of the community we’re building here.

Each one brings their own story, strengths, and style to the mat, but they all share a commitment to teaching in a way that’s real, supportive, and rooted in connection. Whether you’re brand new or have been practicing for years, our team is here to hold space, offer guidance, and grow alongside you.

Why Golden Root?

Golden Root has a long history as an adaptogen, traditionally used to support endurance, resilience, and balance, and to help ease mild anxiety and symptoms of depression. Its ability to grow in challenging conditions, quietly and steadily, resonated with me as a metaphor for the kind of studio I wanted to create: rooted, grounded, and open to growth in its own time.

Rhodiola rosea, known as Golden Root: a small, hardy alpine plant that thrives in harsh climates and has been used for centuries in traditional medicine across Siberia, Scandinavia, and Tibet.

Why A Yoga Studio?

Yoga found me at a time when I didn’t even know I needed it. My life had shifted in ways I couldn’t have prepared for, and I was carrying more emotional weight than I knew how to hold. I felt unmoored - without a compass, without direction.

Stepping onto the mat changed that. At first, yoga was simply movement, a way to quiet the chaos in my mind. But slowly, it became something deeper. It taught me that I could stay present, even in discomfort. That I could breathe through uncertainty. That I could do hard things, not by fighting, but by finding steadiness within myself.

Yoga gave me two gifts I didn’t know could coexist: the solitude of inner reflection, and the belonging that comes from being part of a community. Both shaped me in ways I’ll carry for the rest of my life.

When I moved to Georgia, I searched for a yoga studio close enough to attend regularly to continue my journey, and I couldn’t find it. In that absence, the seed of Golden Root Yoga began to germinate.

This studio was created to hold space – space to move, breathe, connect, and discover what yoga can mean for you. Maybe it’s strength, healing, or clarity. Maybe it’s fun, joy, and community. Maybe it’s simply the reminder that you are not alone. My hope is that Golden Root Yoga becomes a place where you can uncover your own version of what yoga has given me.

With gratitude,
